CAPIBARIBE INITIATIVE ("I want to swim in the Capibaribe, and you ?") Accomplished

The "Capibaribe" initiative in Brazil has encouraged a potential three million spectators in Pernambuco (state in Brazil) to adopt eco-friendly behavior. The way? Small short films broadcast on Public University TV (TVU). So every week, a collective of young people called “Gambiarra Imagens”, from disadvantaged neighborhoods, produced these short films or “Green Capsules”.
In 2009, 12 short films were produced jointly with young people from the Gambiarra collective. They are available on the website www.capibaribe.info.
Subsequently, a second series of 24 short films was produced. Workshops on the theme of water quality and environmental protection in schools and universities were also organized and were very well received.
